Types of People And Their Interests

People have been categorized into different types based on some factors.

From the economic perspective, we have 3 types of people.

  1. Poor people.

This set of people focuses on money. Their eyes are always on getting money to solve problems. They work so hard to earn money but the money they raise may not be enough to solve their problem. Most times they work without systems and strategies which hinders their growth. Some of them view self-development as a waste of time and resources. They are the majority of the population. Some of them look at others especially the wealthy as insincere and corrupt people who make money and wealth through dubious means.

  1. The Rich People.

These people focus is on things. They want to get the latest cars, the latest designers’ clothes/shoes, most expensive house in a highbrow area. They want to get money smartly. They would do anything to get money and no amount of money can satisfy them. Physical things give them joy. They always want to be seen and recognized. Most of them have the attitude of looking down on others. They help when they know that their doings will attract publicity.

Though, some of them are good and also have that human feeling for others. Some genuinely earn their riches.

  1. Wealthy People.

These sets of people are driven by ideas. They believe that ideas rule the world. They are committed to working on their ideas to a conclusion. They create value and change lives. They are not driven by immediate gratification rather they focus on the long term benefits. Nearly all of them are philanthropists. They are committed to making life better and easy for all. People like Bill Gates of Microsoft, Steve Jobs of Apple, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Elon Musk of Tesla, Dangote of Dangote groups, etc. They exert a significant positive impact on the life of the majority of people within their clime and beyond.

They don’t believe in getting rich quick syndrome. They focus on solving problems that attract enormous wealth. They want to be remembered by posterity that they live life here on earth.

This quote by Steve Jobs says it all: “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful…that’s what matters to me.”

Having briefly explained the 3 types of people and their interests, which one do you belong to. This needs deep thought and responsibility to break the anchor.

What drive you? What gives you joy? How do you regard others especially those at the lower rung in the society?

My dear, we are not here by mistake. No matter what you may believe, there is existence and the source of your existence. That sources have a purpose you must fulfil.

Note, being in a particular type is not casting on stone. Your activities and orientation can move you from one type to another.

Let’s live to impact.
